At this time their are two Cameca MBX (Camebax) Electron Microprobe on the market...
The first one must be removed at once, but the site must have a use under DOE. Far as known their will be no cost to the recipient except for removal and setup.
This machine has not been used in 4+ years.. Condition unknown.. You should have at least +50K for removal, setup and any possible problems that might show up.
The second might be availble before the end of Sept., and this probe has been updates to an Mac computer system. If available, it might sell for about $10k plus
removal and setup. The total amount for this machine might run up too the +70K mark.
Both machines did work before and were in great condition and were under service contracts for many years.
This is a public anouncement and E-MAC,inc. or its service representatives are not responsible for any conditions set forth by the holder of these machines,

I am a physician that is looking for the best most advanced economical way to identify the Candida species in a patients blood sample. The usual fungal blood cultures are extremely poor at culturing and identifing the Candida species.

which has phase contrast/dark field (pseudo)/neutral density
Magnification is approximately 19,500X. I would like to have a system that
has the above plus Normarsky and do real dark field. It must
be quickly changeable to the modes and would like to get
the magnification up to 25,000X - 30,000X. I realize that resolution
will be lost at this magnification but what I am finding is a necessary
evil that I can put up with. If the system is viable and durable, then I will want to put

I am very interested on the position of Materials Characterization using TEM in Hewlett-Packard Laboratories.
I have extensive experience on the study of materialsÕ reliability and structure-properties
relationship using transmission electron microscopy. During my study of Ph.D degree with Dr. Lourdes Salamanca-Riba, we have performed studies to improve the lifetime of II-VI light emitting diodes (with 3M Co. II-VI laser group) and the performance of InSb-based position sensor (with Dale Partin in GM Co.). In addition, I have worked with Dr. Ron Anderson (from IBM East Fishkill) on the TEM and SEM analysis of Si circuits. Currently, I am a research fellow in Joint Research Center for Atom Technology (JRCAT) and have close collaboration with members in several groups for materialsÕs characterization. These studies include the reliability in ZnSe/GaAs, nucleation process and selectivity control of Si on Si using plasma - enhanced CVD, structural study of MBE grown GaN/GaAs, structural-magnetic properties in MnSb/GaAs and MnGa/GaAs, and formation of nanostructure in Mn-doped low temperature growth GaAs. During my stay in JRCAT since May of 1995, I have participated the ideas and development of processes in two patents related to the reliability and doping issues in ZnSe/GaAs.
Based on my previous and current collaboration experience with groups working in industry and research institute, I am familiar with the study of materials using transmission electron microscopy. I can provide close interaction and support with other group members in team problem solving.

I have been recently working on studies for permeability of
the blood brain barrier using horseradish peroxidase. The
protocol that i have been using has an incubation step (using
1% DAB + 0.001% H2O2) after fixation and rinsing with buffer. It continues by osmification, dehydration, and embedding.
My Question--- After polymerization my tissue blocks (.5x.5mm)
are still gooey and spong-like. I have let them polymerize
over 24 hrs.
Any suggestion as to what i have done wrong??

Good Day,
I need a new glue for preparing TEM "Wedge" samples of semiconductor devices.
I am currently using a thermal wax from Beuhler Co., but have found this product leaves quite a lot of contamination. Regular Cyano-Acrolate adhesives have also proven to be unsatisfactory, as the samples do not adhere sufficiently to the glass polishing stubs we use. The glue in question should be acetone/solvent - but not water suluble.

We have 3D single lens converter technology which we use in Minimally Invasive Surgery, coupling to rigid endoscopes as small as less than 1mm. We have a prototype adapter for large optical microscopes of the type typically used in surgery. We are looking for a major manufacturing/distribution partner. Our 3D in endoscopy is currently rated as being extremely good and COMFORTABLE. Viewer friendliness is a major consideration with 3D and this prototype features our core single lens 3D imaging technology which is not dependent on someone having average eye spacing. Viewers observe on a high speed monitor (120 hertz) wearing LCS glasses. There is no limit to the display screen size and, in fact, the 3D improves with distance. The imaging is satellite and cable transmittable and, currently, video is recorded on SVHS format during endoscopy.

The department of Materials Engineering & Materials Design at the University of Nottingham has a Philips 301 TEM which we have no further use for. We urgently need the space taken up by this instrument to install a new Philips FEG-ESEM.
The 301 has not been in use for several years and did have some problems regarding Xray leakage. It would probably be most suitable for spare parts, although with some repairs and servicing could still work.
